CUR8's 10 Takeaways from COP28

“CUR8 is a market maker for carbon removals, acting on the science that tells us we need billions of tonnes of removals to stay below 1.5 degrees. While the final commitments that emerged from COP28 left much to be desired, it was hugely encouraging to see carbon removals take a much more visible role in the discussions, both inside the official negotiating rooms and outside them too. We worked alongside our sister NGO Rethinking Removals and a coalition of other NGOs to bring up vital issues such as enabling policies, access to finance, risk management and collaboration between the Global North and Global South. In 2024 we’ll work hard to translate these discussions into action.”

Two of CUR8 co-founders, Marta and Gabrielle Walker, were on the ground at COP28, speaking at and listening in on pavilions and event spaces across the massive blue, green and innovation zones, Goals House and many side events and here are their ten takeaways. Read here.
